McCain is a LIAR

This should come as no surprise and is doesn't to me as well. Politicians bend the facts when on the campaign trail. Many of them do it as a result of not clearly understanding an issue, misunderstanding an opponents position, and sometimes they do it fully knowing what they are doing.

This did come to some surprise to me. That is McCain's blatant lie. Romney never proposed, was for, or suggested that we set timetables for withdrawal in Iraq. McCain knows this and so does everyone else. Anyone who heard Romney's remarks knows this for sure!

Why should I be so upset at a regular tactic used by candidates in an election campaign. I'll tell you why. McCain is the one running on honer. He promotes his "honor" when ever he gets the chance. His surrogates promote McCain's "honor" every chance they get as well. That is why it is so disgusting what McCain has done. He has tarnished what ever honor he had forever. He has crossed the line and made a deal with the devil.

I feel so strongly about this that I believe anyone who goes along with McCain's lie on this has lost their honor as well. Period!

Is He Nuts!

First I have have to eat a little crow. In my previous blog post I stated that the Ex-Pres Bill Clinton made a stealth racist remark after the loss in SC. Well. It was the candidate herself who made it. From Yahoo News:

Clinton's camp had worked to manage expectations ahead of a primary that polls had indicated in advance she was likely to lose. Speaking at a town meeting-style rally Saturday night in Nashville -- the capital of Tennessee, which is holding one of the Super Tuesday primaries -- Clinton told supporters, "I want to tell you how excited I am that now the eyes of the country turn to Tennessee and the other states that will be voting on Feb. 5 ... [when] millions and millions of Americans are going to have the chance to have their voices heard and their votes counted."

And also as I said in the previous post. There are no coincidences with the Clinton's. This is true no matter which one is speaking... This is code for now mostly white people will be voting.

Now, for this morning's comments. McCain must be nuts. Does he really think that Romney would endorse timetables in Iraq out loud as a part of a strategy? Knowing that he wanted to run as a conservative Republican candidate? No way and McCain knows that. Romney is not stupid and even if he did feel that way, he would not say it out load. McCain misrepresented Romney's words. In his remarks (Romney's) he said basically said that he would not be surprised if there were SECRET benchmarks discussed and agreed upon by us and Irag. And this is as it should be. McCain himself has mentioned benchmarks and timetables. He has really stepped in it with this one. This just shows how McCain is running a pretty deceitful campaign.

I have tried to stay somewhat neutral on the individual candidates to this point and try to point out the "big picture" issues of this election. I have noted many times that the primaries have made it evident that the culture of politics is in an upheaval this cycle and this I believe, is for good reason. I can no longer do this. McCain has really lost it for me. He has changed his position on each of the issues he is most criticized on and when he takes this latest shot at Romney, he is doing nothing more than trying to shift the focus from Romney's strongest point, the economy to McCain's, the war. Romney has not been weak on the war at all.

Lets face it. By November it's possible that neither the war or the economy will be biggest issue in the media. It can turn on a dime. All of the candidates need to stay focused on the big picture.

I have to LOL at how quickly some candidates fall all over themselves to stress their positions on what ever hot button the media decides they should get a sound bite on. This reminds me of news on the stock market. The financial brainiacks will say that the sky is falling on Tuesday because one company has missed it's projections for revenue by 1 tenth of one percent and the next day the same geniuses will take a complete 180 on their previous comments and say how strong this or that company or financial sector is. They couldn't get away with this if it did not work. Us folks out here need to stay informed and not be sheep. A real good friend of mine once related a great phrase to me and I use it all of the time now. Based on the crazyness of the election season we have to sometimes take a deep breath. Remember that the media will continue to try to spark all kinds of crap and that the phrase "No brains, no headaches" applies to a whole bunch of folks out there.

Surprised ?

I have been reading a bunch of blogs and the comments all over the net after the results of the SC Democratic Primary. A theme that runs through the majority of them is the shock at the tactics of the Clinton's and the distaste that Democrats have for Bill and Hillary. Why is anyone surprised? They have been spewing gutter politics for decades now. Maybe, just maybe it has caught up with them. We will see.

When I was watching the various speeches after the results were in, I noticed that Hillary basically didn't even acknowledge the race in SC and is on to somewhere else. She probably wants to be anywhere else, However, the most telling comment by a Clinton tonight was when the Ex-Pres expressed his joy at the fact that "finally now, millions of people will be voting". He is at it already. In my opinion this was code speak for - I'm glad we are moving on to where mostly white people vote. Remember, there are no coincidences with the Clinton's.

Mr. Obama gave a good victory speech tonight after the primary and I noticed that with him, a widening of the audience was one of his goals. He has now had a very decisive victory and Edwards for all intents and purposes is toast, so it is down to two in the Democratic party. Omama will have to convince the Democrats that HE is the candidate that can win. He will have to show that his appeal is national and that it is not a niche thing.

We Republicans had better watch our step. Whether we like it or not there are at least two facts that we cannot deny. Our party is greatly fractured. just listen to all of the hubub regarding who is worthy of being a Republican. The Republicans have been talking about it for weeks now. So much so that the real issues important to voters are being ignored.  All of this crap is just turning Republican voters off AND away.

We had better get on track real soon or we will be arguing about worthyness for four years and will wake up and realize that the 2008 election has been lost. The second fact is that Obama really has struck a cord in this Country. That cord is unity. His message is positive and inclusive. Now, I don't know what his specific positions are on the issues. He has not had to get that specific yet and I'm sure he will - that is if we stop beating each other up and get focused - but none the less, his message is resonating.

At the risk of being called, dare I say, a moderate or worse. Maybe we could take a page or two from him.

Rush in the Bunker

It's happening now. Yes, Rush is taken to "Bunker Radio". This morning listening to El-Rushbo try to prove that what is true is not true. Rush and others on the conservative Radio Talk shows have been slamming McCain and Huckabee for a week now, or more. Those of you who have listened this AM. Why do you think that he has tried his best to deny what has happened. His keywords for the day has been "Shut up" because some article by a right side journalist used it to describe what he thought Rush and others should do. This made Limbaugh mad. Heaven forbid anyone tell him to shut up. I second it. Hasn't that been exactly what he wants McCain and Huckabee to do.

Since McCain has won a primary or two and Huckabee has won a primary (Caucus, sorry) Rush and all the rest have been screaming the mantra that these two are not worthy of the Republican nomination, yet they will not have the guts to suggest out load who they would support. I am not sure who I am going to vote for, but I will say this. Rush and gang have been dealt a blow due to the fact that the results (and you can slice and dice the numbers anyway you want) don't reflect the amount of "running of the mouth" that the radio gang has done.

I believe that most Republicans ARE FED UP WITH ALL OF THE RANKER IN WASHINGTON AND WANT SOME RESULTS. We are lacking in leadership. That much is true. We are lacking in direction as well. Yes, McCain has made most Conservatives very angry regarding the Illegal Alien Amnesty bill, true enough, but I also believe that he and others who originally supported that bill, have listened to "We the People" and realize that we want the borders secured first. The McCain Fiengold bill is not as much of a hot button.

I find it very interesting that the seemingly orchestrated spewing of distaste for McCain and Huckabee sound much the same as what Rush and his fellow talk hosts constantly complain about. Democratic Talking Points parroted by the MSM. Well. Here is the deal. Reagan is not in this race. He is dead folks. Get over it. I don't want someone who is going to try to look at the Reagan play book every time a decision has to be made. I also don't want someone who can't or won't compromise any and every subject just to prove a point or satisfy Rush.

Lets do this for a change. OH shucks, there is that word. Lets not listen to any media for answers to our questions. Lets make informed choices and lets try to win. Do you really want four to eight more years of this crap? I want the perfect candidate as much as anyone else, but we rarely get that choice. We have an incredible number of important issues to resolve in this Country of ours and we need to get started on solving them. You know, in my prior life on the job I spent hours in meetings that had the stated purpose of resolving a problem or an issue and it struck me that most of those meetings established no real course of action, just an additional meeting regarding the subject. Nobody wanted to be wrong. No one wanted to fail. What it lead to was analysis paralysis. This election cycle feels very different to me. Maybe it's the advent of Oboma. Agree with him or not. His approach has struck a cord.

The big states are about to have their primaries and in the next month the nominations in both parties will likely be set. We will have eight months to vet out all of the issues. We need to have solidarity to win. Rush and the like will argue and divide us till the last dog is dead just for spite. So far we have gone against the grain in the Republican party and we are finding out who has the staying power. Vote with vigore, but please, don't vote based on what Rush and those clowns think...
